Hot Topics Summer Series This summer’s preaching and teaching series is entitled “Hot Topics.” We are going to explore some of the key social and moral issues and debates that are happening in our nation and in the church today. We will discover that God and His Word have quite a lot to say about these issues. We will explore the following topics: pornography, sacredness of life, God and politics, environmentalism, human sexuality, substance abuse, racism, same-sex marriage and the sacredness of the marriage covenant, and women in leadership and ministry. On the Wednesday evening following each Sunday’s sermon there will be a “Hot Topics Q & A” session in the Fireside Room at 7:00 pm.You will have the opportunity to submit questions on Sunday following the message and Pastor Mark will address them on that following Wednesday evening. We also want you who are parents to younger children to know that throughout this series alternative ministry programming will be provided for children up through the sixth grade. This will be led by Pastor Patty Rose and our children’s ministry volunteers. The only Sunday this series will be interrupted is on Sunday, August the 9th when singer and author Clay Crosse will be our guest. This is a series that will keep you on the edge of your seat and may turn out to be one of the most discussed preaching and teaching series in Maiden Lane’s history.
