Adult Education Opportunities Interesting classes abound for everyone, young or old. Leaders and teachers enjoy people and are trained to present a creatively prepared Bible-based, attention-holding hour. Wednesday Evenings 7 PM We offer a general adult Bible study in the Fireside room. Other adult electives are offered as announced throughout the year.
Sunday 9 AM Classes Young Life Seekers College students, career-minded graduates and everything in between, these young adults engage in authentic conversations about real life issues. Where: Room 207 Teachers: Anthony and Celeste Artis, Ray and Margi Starr Class Age Range: 18 to 24 Higher Ground This class is focused on building stong relationships for couples. Where: Room 202 Teachers: Trent Nourse Class Age Range: 20s—30s Vineyard This multi-age group enjoys Bible study, discussion and fellowship. Where: Room 204 Teachers: Jeff Lenix, Gordon Scott and Mike Whaley Class Age Range: A class of all ages Willing Helpers Willing Helpers are just that. They serve one another in love and care for one another’s needs. Where: Room 200 Teachers: Ruth Pencil Class Age Range: 50+ Adore Him Class This class teaches biblical basics with engaging discussion and class participation. Where: Chapel (at back of Sanctuary) Teachers: Jack Crew, Jeff Collins, & Lisa Jones Class Age Range: twenty-somethings to sixty-somethings Love in Action Showing love actively is the goal of this group of people age 30 to 60. You're sure to find someone your age experiencing life similar to yours. Where: Family-Life Center Teachers: Bob McDonald and Mike Parks Class Age Range: 30+ Faith Believers These class members carry the most years, but are still young at heart. These "more mature" adults have many life experiences to share how God has seen them through. Where: Fireside Room Teachers: Vernalee Smith & Barb Reed Class Age Range: 55+ Apply Within This class is designed to help people obtain the biblical knowledge and discipline to practically apply the truth of God's Work, the teachings of Christ and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to live lives honoring Him. Where: Room 203 Teachers: Randy Runkle and Treves Wilson Class Age Range: All ages Walking Thru the Word Offered twice a year, this class is for those who want a broad survey of Bible content. We help connect the narrative of God's people from the Creation account to Christ and the early church. Using a trusted Bible storybook as a help, we cover much of the key stories of Scripture in 6 months. Where: Room 210 Teachers: Karen Angles, Steve Sherman and Pastor Joy Sherman Class Age Range: Anyone wanting to learn more about the stories of Scripture Newcomers Meeting as often as needed, this 3-hour class on a Sunday afternoon is designed to help guests determine if they want to make Maiden Lane Church of God their home. Topics include a brief history of the Church of God, key doctrinal points, meeting our pastoral staff, and our mission, vision and values. Where: Welcome Center lobby Teachers: Pastor Joy Sherman & Pastor Mark Martin Class Age Range: Anyone new to the fellowship at Maiden Lane. Electives Periodically, topical classes of a brief duration may be offered during the teaching hour on Sunday mornings. Subjects include studies on specific books of the Bible, character studies of individuals in Scripture, and faith-based issues touching the lives of people today. Where: Locations TBA Teachers: A combination of our Sunday AM teachers and / or pastoral staff. Class Age Range: Anyone interested in the topic being taught, no need to "pre-register"
