Christian Women Connection

Maiden Lane has three active women’s groups. This may be a new name to you (previously known as Women of the Church of God); but the ladies have been busy for years supporting missions. You may have seen ladies selling chocolate Easter eggs or pies. That would be our J.O.Y. Circle. Besides their regular meeting, these ladies meet each month to make pies to sell. The proceeds of their fund raising efforts go toward supporting our missionaries (The Kurrles in Paraguay; the Webbs in Tanzania; The Philips, Europe/Middle East) as well as contribute to local missions.  This group always meets during the day. If you are interested in learning more about this group, please see Fonda Geer.

The youngest of our women’s groups is Women of Promise. This multi-age group meets on the first Thursday each month at 6:30 pm at Panera. This group focuses on fellowship, sisterhood, and their goal is to help Hannah House, a local home which offers temporary housing for young mothers and their babies who find themselves in a crisis situation.  Have you noticed the cards for sale on the table in the Welcome Center?  This is a fund-raiser for Women of Promise. All ladies are welcome. If you are interested, please see Theresa Crew.

The Enon campus also has an active women’s group. Through their dessert auctions and garage sales, they have just recently made more than $1,000 for their mission efforts. A portion of these funds will help furnish the interior of the Youth building being planned for our Enon congregation. They also help with the local Enon food pantry.

Mission Trips

Purpose Statement:  To provide opportunities for people to minister to others and to be ministered to in a cross-cultural experience.

General Description:  Typically groups of 10 – 18 people who travel together to help others in need.  The help is usually in the form of building, painting, etc.  Arrangements are also made to share the gospel with others in schools, churches, homes and villages.

Opportunities to:  Travel with others to a location where both manual labor and spiritual witness can be shared with those less fortunate than ourselves.

Past Mission Trips:  Honduras, Beirut Lebanon, Paraguay (3 years), Guatemala

Contact info:  Contact the church office at (937) 323-9747

Faith Promise

FAITH PROMISE is an exciting way to support redemptive Christian outreach beyond the walls of Maiden Lane Church of God.

FAITH PROMISE is a personal covenant with God expressing your intention to give a specific amount to the support of specific mission causes.

FAITH PROMISE links your “promise” to give with your “faith” to believe that God will provide.

The Faith Promise plan, based on the teaching of the Apostle Paul in II Corinthians 8-9, is summed up in his testimony concerning the Macedonian Christians.

“For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability.”

This exercise of faith is a spiritual act through which you receive God’s special enabling. As you practice it, you experience spiritual growth in the area of trusting God.

Faith Promise Sources

Faith Promise funds DO NOT come from your tithe dedicated to the support of Maiden Lane . Faith Promise funds are ABOVE and BEYOND your tithe. Here are four possible ways those funds can be received:

1. Money Unusually Attained!
A pay raise, bonus, overtime pay, unexpected income, a gift

2. Money Deliberately Retained
Denying yourself a luxury, delaying a purchase, fasting a meal

3. Money Surprisingly Regained!
Tax refund, investment return, insurance refund, repaid debt, rebates

4. Money Intentionally Maintained!
Commitment to regular giving through your personal budget
